Davitamon Vitamin K Oil can be given to breastfeeding babies from the age of 8 days to 3 months and is intended to help promote effective coagulation. Product Details Davitamon K Oil
Davitamon K Oil has been specifically formulated for babies who are breastfeeded – as breast milk contains insufficient quantities of vitamin K and babies are unable to produce vitamin K in the bowels themselves, it is important that infants who are breastfeeding receive extra Davitamon K Oil.
If you are breastfeeding your baby you can administer Davitamon K Oil yourself. Start by giving Davitamon K Oil as soon as your baby is eight days old and continue until 12 weeks of age. Give 5 drops of Davitamon Vitamin K Oil to your baby daily, either on a teaspoon or by dribbling the drops directly onto your nipple. Always take care to ensure that the Davitamon K Oil bottle doesn’t come into contact with either your baby's mouth or food.
The Nederlandse Gezondheidsraad (the Dutch Health Council) recommends that breastfeeding babies between 8 days and 12 weeks of age be given 150 micrograms of vitamin K daily. Always consult your doctor, midwife or obstetrician before you give Davitamon Vitamin K Oil to your baby. It is advised not to exceed the maximum recommended daily dose. Once open, store Davitamon K Oil in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate and keep out of the reach of children. One drop of Davitamon Vitamin K Oil contains 30 micrograms of vitamin K dissolved in vegetable oil.
